1970s Schaller pickup set - chrome with black surrounds

Pair of Schaller pickups; Hoyer, Welson, Galanti, Gherson, Crucianelli and other guitars - early 70's - Chrome with Black surrounds

These pickups were made by Schaller for the German & Italian guitars manufacturers who produced some very good copies of Gibson Guitars of the early 70-80's including 335s, SG, Les Pauls and Double necks.

One coil has staggered poles like vintage Fender pickups, this produces a sharp, brilliant tone with less eddy currents as described in Helmuth Lemme book on Guitar Electronics, who incidentally was German.
These are a matched pair and probably came off a Welson or Hoyer 335 guitar by the length of the leads, they are in very good condition with all the original Black surrounds which have very distinctive picture frame shape found on German & Italian made guitars, screws and springs. These came with various cover differences including double poles and rail and poles. Leads are 200mm long.

These measure 7.8 KOhms on our meter and are in the original PAF range, they sound truly vintage.
